It's still summer, so that means it's time for vacations… and that is no exception for us here at PhotoJoseph Studios. Ryan, the assistant/producer, was out of the studio Monday and Tuesday, leaving Joseph alone to manage the live show by himself, (It's Joseph's turn next week… he's flying off with his teenage kids to Sweden). Monday's show was an unboxing of the Behringer X AIR XR16, which was actually a very generous gift from a loyal viewer, (if only Joseph wasn't scrambling the week before his trip… this would have been set up by now). On Tuesday, Joseph installed a firmware update for the Panasonic Leica 12-60mm, and showed off the Image Stabilization. Wednesday, Ryan was back in the studio, therefore it was the first true test of the new setup using the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K… it was also the first true streaming test of the Webcaster X2 from Epiphan Video. Thursday's show was geared towards learning about the subtleties of shooting a solar eclipse and other Astrophotography topics like the Aurora Borealis. Our guest was Jason McMurry, a local Klamath Falls photographer/videographer, who has experience with this and shared his tips and insights. If any of you in the USA are interested in photographing/recording the eclipse, this is definitely one to watch! And on Friday, we ended the week with two birds and one stone. Joseph talked about what gear he would be taking with him to Sweden, and the mentality behind the choices, all while we had TWO streaming events going at the same time, (that's right Egon, we crossed the streams). We had dual streams going to test the potential differences between streaming through Wirecast and streaming through the Epiphan Webcaster X2. Watching them side by side, as you can below, shows some very obvious differences. What can you see?
We hope everyone has a great weekend. And always remember, you can catch the Photo Moments LIVE every weekday at 9:30am PT.
