Trying something new here… a "week in review", pseudo short journal, just to highlight what I've been doing and what's coming up next.
Monday opened with a 5:30 am flight to Los Angeles for the Adobe MAX conference, which I was attending on behalf of Panasonic. I spent part of my time in the partner pavilion, showing off the latest LUMIX cameras, and also attended the keynotes and several sessions. It was amazing to see Adobe showing off not only their newest features in the three hour opening keynote, most of which you can watch for free at max.adobe.com, but also revealing technologies that may (or may not!) show up in future Adobe apps in the "Sneaks" keynote. One of my favorites from that was #ProjectFaces… an app where you can easily design and create your own fonts. Amazing!

Of all the sessions I attended, the most interesting ones were Julieanne Kost's advanced Lightroom development techniques, and Jack Davis's HDR and Panoramic in Lightroom session. Did you know you can create HDR files that are still RAW, and then stitch those together into a (still RAW!) panoramic in Lightroom CC 2015? Incredible. A post on this will go up on PhotoApps.Expert next week. I couldn't resist testing this out by firing a 7-stop bracketed sequence, 9-segment panoramic, (that's 63 original files), all hand held, just outside the Los Angeles Convention Center as soon as I walked out of the session. The screenshot below shows all the files that went into it… be sure to check the site next week to see the results.

I flew home late Wednesday night, and spent Thursday and Friday back in the studio. I recorded a new video for my "Photos for OS X Basic Training" series on the new "extensions" feature released with OS X El Capitan, which will get added to the product next week. In it I used Macphun apps, as they are going to give away that video on their website as well.

I started scripting the next DxO Labs video, which we'll shoot next week. If you haven't seen those videos, here they are (there's a bunch if you click on the playlist icon on the top left).
I also wrote a long post that is essentially a petition to get Adobe to add RAW+JPEG support to Lightroom. You can read all about it here, and please do add your name to the list if it's even remotely something you're interested in. I'll need a lot of support to convince Adobe to do this.

Lastly, my assistant Kai has been busy building out my recording studio. I'm upgrading the space for a much more sophisticated broadcast. This is a lot of DIY so hopefully it all works, but a huge part of it is the green screen painted wall! He also built a suspension system to hang lights and diffusors from, to keep stuff off the floor. I can't wait to get this all up and running.

Next week I'll be shooting the next DxO Labs video… outlining for my DxO demo at PhotoPlus Expo in New York the week after (I'll be at PPE for both DxO and Panasonic)… redoing my portfolio in time for PPE… editing some overdue photos for Liquid Assets I shot before I hit the road the week before… and probably a few things I'm forgetting.
