Our last night in Vietnam was spent on a cruise on Hạ Long Bay, a place featuring the extraordinary natural beauty of nearly 2,000 limestone islets poking out of the South China Sea like the spines of so many dragons. Sadly our tour was shrouded in fog, although that did provide two things. One, the opportunity to make some really cool, mysterious black and white photos. And two, an excuse to go back again some day.

The junk ships are all tour boats. There are a ton of them on the water, but fortunately they all look pretty cool, so it doesn’t ruin the illusion too much.
