Yesterday I shot some photos for a hip restaurant here in Ashland Oregon, Taroko Pan-Pacific Bistro [official website] [Yelp link]. I’ll be back later this week to shoot some interior shots on a busy evening as well. I shot five dishes, each in a variety of setups. The venue is quite cool looking, with great art on the walls, polished cement floor, full bar in the back, and more. If you’re in town, be sure to stop by — the food is great!
The lighting was a balance of long exposures to capture the ambient light (as long as five seconds), and usually a single strobe (although for a few shots I used a second strobe for fill). The main light was shot through a 32” diffusion panel hovering just above the food for a nice, soft light.
